Event report: Museum of Robots in Second Life open exhibit 'Bots, Bugs & Beasts' - the art of Joshua Ellingson

Today we opened the exhibit of Josh Ellingson's work, 'Bots, Bugs and Beasts' with the artist in attendance. The event was well-attended, with robots making up a large part of the crowd (in both scale and quantity).

Josh conducted a voice tour of selected works and answered questions while exhibit visitors enjoyed refreshments and received free exhibit souvenirs, including shirts and a signed exhibit poster.

The exhibit is open daily and features Ellingson's illustrations and drawings, which he has created for publications ranging from Wired to Popular Science, and for events including Robogames. Selected works include an audio file so you can hear Joshua describe the art and his inspiration behind the piece.

In addition to his illustration and design business, Josh Ellingson is the director for The Local 303, a studio/collective of illustrators and designers in San Francisco, California. Josh Ellingson also contributes editorial writing and reviews to Hi-Fructose, a contemporary art and culture magazine.

For a design competition, Aston Martin teamed with Foster + Partners architects to design a new version of the iconic double-decker bus. Electric, glass top to recharge batteries and luxury leather bucket seats (ok, not really on that last part.)
